About Mirza Amsaar Ahmed
My name is Mirza Amsaar Ahmed, and I am currently studying BSc (Hons) Computer Science at Birmingham Newman University. I have achieved First Class Honours in all modules so far, and I am passionate about helping others understand technology and develop confidence in Computer Science.
Alongside my degree, I have earned industry certifications including CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and Google Cloud certifications, which reflect practical knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. These certifications can allow me to bring real-world context into lessons, helping students understand how the concepts they study are used in modern technology.
I was also selected as a Digital Mentor at Birmingham Newman University, to support students in using digital tools effectively for their studies, including platforms such as Microsoft 365. This role has strengthened my ability to explain technical topics clearly and patiently to people with different levels of experience.
I believe that Computer Science should feel accessible rather than intimidating. Many students struggle not because the subject is too difficult, but because it is often explained in an overly complicated way. My goal is to simplify complex ideas and help students build a solid understanding step by step.
I aim to provide a professional, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.

My lessons focus on building a strong understanding of Computer Science concepts while also developing practical problem-solving skills. Rather than memorising theory, I would help students understand why things work the way they do. I would explain concepts step-by-step using clear examples, diagrams, and small practical exercises so students can confidently apply what they learn.
My teaching style is structured but flexible. A typical lesson would usually begin with a short review of previous material, followed by explanation of a new concept, then guided practice questions or coding exercises. I would encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson so we can address any confusion immediately. For exam-focused students, I would also spend time on practice paper questions and explaining the reasoning behind strong answers.
Lessons would typically be 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s needs. Sessions can focus on programming, core computer science theory, coursework support, or exam preparation.
I am currently studying BSc (Hons) Computer Science and have achieved First Class Honours in all modules so far.
