About Alishba
Hi! My name is Alishba and I am a first year IB student! I take Biology, Chemistry and Maths Higher Level as well as English, Philosophy and French at Standard Level. I have extensive tutoring experience as a teacher-recommended maths tutor for students in Year 7-11 as well as tutoring family members for 11+ exams, English GCSE and scholarship exams. Being a student myself, I understand the importance of understanding hard topics as well as creating efficient revision and study techniques, all which I have accumulated over the past few years as a former IGCSE student.

Being a student myself and knowing the struggle of learning difficult topics whilst making them stick, I’ve taught numerous students Maths, English language and Literature and Sciences from Year 6 to Year 11 for KS3 and GCSE exams and 11+ exam entry. I structure my lessons to focus on understanding concepts and their applications in exam context as well utilising active instead of passive learning to make retrieving lesson material from memory when revising a lot easier, ensuring top grades in exams. Lessons are usually 45 minutes to an hour where we focus on learning the content in an easy to digest manner (encouraging students to take initiative to explore the topic at a greater depth to further knowledge in the area) and consolidating the knowledge where we practice exam style questions and focus on creating the students own-topic question bank which they can revisit for revision using the spaced repetition technique.
