I use a communicative and immersive approach to language learning, focusing on practical usage and conversational skills. My lessons are designed to be interactive, engaging, and student-centered. I incorporate a mix of task-based learning, vocabulary building, grammar practice, and cultural exploration. I believe in fostering a positive and supportive environment where students feel confident to experiment with language and make mistakes as part of the learning process. Each lesson is designed to be tailored to the student's individual needs, interests, and goals, making learning both effective and enjoyable.
Typical Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-up
Quick conversation or review of the previous lesson.
Use flashcards or images to introduce new vocabulary.
2. New Content Introduction
Introduce a new topic, vocabulary, or grammar point.
Use visuals, real-life examples, and simple sentences to explain.
Engage the student with interactive exercises (e.g., matching words, sentence building).
3. Practice
Interactive conversation practice: Have the student practice new vocabulary and grammar through dialogues.
Role-playing scenarios (e.g., ordering food, asking for directions, etc.).
Listening comprehension practice using audio or video clips.
4. Cultural Exploration
Introduce cultural elements related to the language (e.g., Korean holidays, traditions, etiquette).
5. Review and Wrap-Up
Quick review of the day’s lesson and new words/phrases learned.
Assign homework or self-study tasks (e.g., journaling, listening practice).
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
Personalized Approach: I adapt each lesson to my students’ learning pace, goals, and interests, ensuring they remain motivated and engaged.
Cultural Insight: I incorporate cultural lessons alongside language instruction, providing a well-rounded understanding of both language and Korean culture.
Focus on Communication: I emphasize real-world communication skills rather than rote memorization, making sure students can use what they learn in daily interactions.
