About Isobel

For someone who knows what it is like to struggle in school, I want to make sure that you never feel alone. I am here to help you reach your academic goals, without making the process any more difficult than it already is.

Coursework:
Majority of my math education was in high school (Algebra 2, Pre-calculus, AP Calc AB-BC, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra), with my highest math level being Differential Equations. I have experience in high school physics (normal and AP) as well as 4 college-level physics classes. If you have any engineering related coursework questions I am also happy to help however I can!

About the lesson

As a university student well-versed in the STEM field, I approach teaching math and physics with a focus on deep comprehension and engaging learning. As someone who has experience in both tutoring and receiving tutoring, I know how important it is to create an atmosphere that permits open communication.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
Conceptual Understanding: I prioritize building a strong foundation by ensuring students grasp underlying principles before moving to problem-solving.
Interactive Problem-Solving: Students actively participate in solving problems collaboratively, receiving guidance and feedback.
Adaptive Teaching: I tailor my approach to suit individual learning styles and needs, providing additional explanations or alternative methods as necessary.

Typical Lesson Plan:
Introduction: Overview of lesson objectives, guided by what the student is most in need of.
Conceptual Explanation: Clear explanation with visual aids and relatable examples.
Interactive Practice: Collaborative problem-solving session.
Application: Real-world scenarios demonstrating practical significance.
Review and Q&A: Recap and address questions.

What Sets Me Apart:
Engineering Background: Strong understanding with practical applications.
Personalized Approach: Tailoring teaching methods to suit individual needs.
Engagement and Interactivity: Fostering active participation and motivation.
Accessibility and Flexibility: Offering flexible scheduling and online accessibility.

Target Audience:
High school and undergraduate students in STEM fields, particularly those studying math and physics.
