About Emma
I am a fourth year English Literature Student currently studying at the university of St Andrews. I have been teaching A Level and GCSE English for about three years now with excellent results. I love teaching because I love my subject! It is so unbelievably rewarding to see my students move from struggling with a subject to not only enjoying it but excelling with it!

I teach mainly by a thematic approach when it comes to literature. I think the best way to learn the text is to break it down and approach it in the way the exam paper will approach it. This involves looking at past papers and tackling key themes and characters one at a time. In terms of exam technique I have some lesson plans specifically for this however a great way to learn is by going through the students essays together! This means I can expand on the teachers feedback and give specific, constructive criticism.
