About Nicole

I have been a linguist all my life and I love the access to new experiences and cultures that language learning can give you. I am realistic about my students' time commitments and I help them to improve in the areas where they are struggling the most.

Confidence is of paramount importance in languages and I believe that helping my students to gain a thorough understanding of grammar gives them the confidence they need to express themselves accurately in the language. I have many tips and tricks for examination success that I have learnt over the years which can help even the most timid language learner to excel in examinations.

About the lesson

I am a specialist French and Spanish tutor with 10 years of experience teaching students from top UK prep and public schools. I have a strong academic background: I am a qualified lawyer and translator and I have a languages degree from the University of Oxford. I have tutored both online and in person for top London tutoring agencies and for many elite international clients with a great record of exam success for my students. I like to demystify the examination and revision process and use tutoring time efficiently to ensure that the student is able to boost their performance in languages without compromising the workload of other subjects.

I excel at preparing students for examinations by ensuring that they have a solid foundation in grammar and an understanding of examination requirements to empower them to achieve top grades. I focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing but I always approach the subject from a targeted exam-focussed perspective to ensure that my students are able to achieve entry to their desired schools and universities through enhanced examination performance.

I have a good knowledge of entry requirements for top UK senior schools and universities and I am able to help with the application process for these as well as to advise on any particular requirements for each.

What my clients say:

"Nicole worked with two of my boys for both French and Spanish and they both ended up with A*'s in their GCSE's in both subjects. She was extremely focussed on getting the best out of the boys, had them engage in their subjects and working on set tasks in between her sessions with them. We were very lucky to have her!" - London parent

"My son was really struggling with his A level preparation and felt out of his depth in Spanish. We asked Nicole to tutor him to help him with his confidence and it really worked! He achieved an A and is hoping to go on to study in Spain." - Berkshire parent

Nicole was an absolutely fabulous tutor - although a native English speaker, she studied French and Spanish at Oxford and speaks/writes both fluently. She also currently lives in France so really appreciates the culture and nuances behind the language. Couldn’t recommend her more highly.
