About Sela

I hold a B.A. in French Studies and Intercultural Communication and have 6 years of experience teaching French to students of diverse backgrounds. My teaching philosophy emphasizes creating lessons that are immersive, interactive, and culturally rich. I prioritize an encouraging environment where learners feel confident practicing, experimenting, and improving in all aspects of language use. Lessons incorporate grammar exercises, vocabulary building, conversation, listening comprehension, reading, and cultural discussions. I provide individualized guidance, practical strategies, and constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement and fluency. My approach balances accuracy, creativity, and cultural understanding. Outside teaching, I engage with French literature, film, and media to enrich lessons and provide contemporary context. Teaching French is fulfilling because I witness learners gain confidence, fluency, and a deeper appreciation for the language and its culture. Supporting their linguistic, cultural, and personal growth is deeply rewarding.

About the lesson

French lessons are most effective when learners actively engage with language, culture, and communication practice. I focus on grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and idiomatic expressions. Each lesson includes dialogues, roleplay activities, multimedia exercises, interactive discussions, and authentic text analysis. I create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable experimenting with language, asking questions, and building confidence. Lessons emphasize practical usage, contextual understanding, and cultural nuances, helping students apply French in daily, academic, or professional contexts. Through consistent practice, reflection, and constructive feedback, learners develop accuracy, fluency, and cultural competence. I blend structured exercises with creative activities to ensure that learning is engaging, meaningful, and results-oriented.

Lesson progression is customized to skill level. Beginners focus on basic grammar, pronunciation, simple sentences, and conversational practice. Intermediate learners refine complex grammar, expressiveness, listening comprehension, and written communication. Advanced learners engage with literature, debates, advanced writing, professional or academic tasks, and stylistic expression. Exercises, immersive tasks, and guided practice ensure steady growth in competence and confidence.

French lessons promote communication ability, cultural insight, and critical thinking. Students learn to interact naturally in various contexts, understand nuances, and express ideas effectively. My goal is to help learners become confident, fluent, and culturally aware, preparing them for real-world, academic, and professional scenarios in French-speaking environments.
