About ALISHA
Hi, I'm Alisha!
I am a working professional with 12+ years of experience in a corporate environment — and I know firsthand what it takes to communicate clearly, think critically, and express ideas with confidence. These are not just workplace skills. They are life skills. And the best time to build them is between the ages of 10 and 14.
That is exactly why I started teaching.
I work with students in Grades 5 to 8, helping them go beyond rote learning and develop a genuine command of the English language — in reading, writing, grammar, and expression. My sessions are structured, purposeful, and always tailored to the individual child. I take the time to understand how each student thinks before deciding how to teach them.
What sets me apart is not just subject knowledge — it is the professional discipline I bring to every class. I show up prepared. I track progress. I give parents honest, specific feedback every month. And I make sure every child leaves each session knowing exactly what they learned and what to work on next.
I am an Engineer with MBA and hold a PMP certification and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt — which means I am trained to solve problems systematically and communicate complex ideas simply. I apply the same rigor to my teaching.
I keep my intake intentionally small because I believe quality attention cannot be scaled without compromise.

MY APPROACH

My teaching is rooted in understanding how preteens and early teens actually learn — not just what the NCERT textbook prescribes. I use a diagnostic-first method — before teaching, I identify each child's specific gaps in reading, writing, or grammar. Every session is then tailored to address those gaps, not just cover the next chapter.
Every child comes with a different learning style, pace, and gap. Learning is made real through examples from everyday life, current events, and age-appropriate stories — not just textbook exercises.
No generic notes. No one-size-fits-all lessons.

WHAT A TYPICAL CLASS LOOKS LIKE (60 minutes)

✦ First 10 minutes — Warm-up: a short reading, current event, or word-of-the-day discussion to get the child thinking and talking
✦ Next 30 minutes — Core concept: grammar, comprehension, essay structure, or literature — explained with real-world examples and guided practice, not just textbook definitions
✦ Last 20 minutes — Application: the child writes, answers, or applies what was taught; I give specific, constructive feedback in the same session
Every class ends with a clear takeaway — one thing the child learned and one focused practice task before the next session.
