About Rosie

I have worked as an English language teacher for 6 years, doing one-on-one classes, group classes and teaching a variety of ages from very young learners to adult learners. I am really attuned to the language learning process as a speaker of other languages myself, this gives me an edge as a teacher; I'm able to think outside of the box to find ways that students will find comfortable to learn. I believe that we all have a great capacity to learn languages! We have all the skills, so I am a strong believer in building confidence and giving my students the chance to see themselves as linguists.

About the lesson

I have taught for Cambridge official exams, one-on-one classes for accent perfection, ESOL for women in crisis zones, in London for intermediate learners hoping to improve their fluency for work and social life, on summer camps with teenagers of all levels. And the list goes on... This breadth of experience helps me really understand where learners are coming from, and to work with them and adapt to the circumstances that they find themselves in as language learners. I understand that some people are learning English in order to be able to survive in a new context, and to get work in the UK or abroad. I also know that people learn English for fun, and to be able to increase their opportunities to socialise here in the UK and abroad with English speakers. I vary my course content according to these needs and will do a thorough needs analysis before starting a tailor-made English language course with you.

Rosie is an excellent tutor- engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our son is studying GCSE Spanish and whilst sessions with Rosie have definitely improved his comprehension and grammar, most importantly it’s given him the confidence to converse in Spanish about many diverse topics not just those in the curriculum. We are very happy to recommend Rosie.

Stephanie

Rosie is a genuinely excellent, inspiring Spanish tutor. She has been tutoring our daughter in A-level Spanish for a year now and our daughter instantly bonded with her due to her friendly and engaging personality and teaching style. She has succeeded in re-motivating our daughter in Spanish, which is brilliant as her confidence and interest was really at a low point. Before starting lessons with Rosie, she had missed a number of school lessons due to ill health.
