About Naomi
I am a fully qualified maths teacher with 3 years' experience of teaching key stage 3 and 4 within an English secondary school. I pride myself on getting results through creating strong professional relationships with students. My ethos centres on having a friendly, approachable and relaxed teaching style, with a firm belief in "there's no such thing as silly question". I have training in maths anxiety and how to overcome this very common fear. Alongside my classroom experience I have tutored small groups and individuals, both in person and online. This has given me the opportunity to create lessons based on the needs of each student and really focus on specific areas that require improvement. Through my experience as a classroom teacher I have a firm understanding of common misconceptions. I also have experience in teaching a wide range of abilities across both higher and foundation GCSE tiers. In 2022 I was an examiner for Pearson Edexcel GCSE series and I therefore have knowledge and insight into exam technique and marking criteria. From my lessons you can expect: - a well-structured lesson with frequent check-points to ensure understanding - tried and tested resources - excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and GCSE marking criteria - a safe space for students to acknowledge and learn from their mistakes University : - Lancaster University - MSc Statistics [Merit] - University of Liverpool - BSc Mathematics [2:2] - University of Cumbria - PGCE [PASS]

Naomi is such a friendly, supportive tutor. She worked around my requirements and was able to provide a service which was flexible and met my working style and needs. She even offered additional materials and websites, as well as advice on where to find materials needed for my studies. I would definitely recommend Naomi's tutoring services!
