About Rachel

Prior to teaching, I worked as an Art Director with several London Advertising Agencies. My portfolio has examples of graphic design, photography, illustration, calligraphy, and ceramics. I also have a Level 4 counselling diploma to help pupils with confidence, anxiety or who generally struggle in a traditional school setting.

About the lesson

I am able to advise for all examination boards. I can nurture practical skills in painting (acrylic, ink, oil, and watercolour), drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture, sketchbook work and portfolio building. I am a professional Artist with a BA in Fine Art and have an in-depth knowledge of traditional and contemporary Artists. It is important that learning is fun and interesting. I am patient, sensitive and innovative in my approach and differentiate appropriately for all abilities. I have an Enhanced DBS check - October 2025

Rachel was honestly the most amazing tutor! She helped me develop and improve my work driving me to think deeply about my project which ultimately made me create powerful pieces that propelled my project upwards dramatically. She is supportive, offering useful constructive feedback that allowed me to refine my concepts and skills. Rachel’s guidance as a tutor helped me achieve a grade A!!! I would no doubt highly recommend her to any students :)

I cannot recommend Rachel enough. We hired her expertise as an art tutor for my daughter during her GCSE's. Despite my daughter struggling with the subject, Rachel managed to inspire and encourage her to create the best work she could. The results in all aspects were excellent and we have Rachel to thank for that.

I highly recommend Rachel. My daughter got so much advice, expertise and support for her A level art, all in an excellent art studio. Rachel followed my daughters interests but also really knew what the course needed her to do.

We had a wonderful experience with Rachel as my daughter’s art tutor. Her calm and reassuring personality created a supportive learning environment, and the beautiful, inspiring space she teaches in truly enhanced each session. She has an imaginative and thoughtful approach to teaching has made a real impact, my daughter improved by at least two grades in both her GCSE and A-level art exams. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
