About Hattie
I decided to become a teacher in order to inspire people to love literature and writing as much as I do. I am incredibly passionate about both English literature and language, and thoroughly enjoy fostering a love of English in others. I love helping people of all ages develop a passion for English and it is incredibly rewarding to help students to reach their goals in building literacy, written communication and verbal communication.

As a teacher, I am aware that one-size-fits-all is not applicable to all students. Therefore, I tailor each lesson to the individual student in order to work on their specific needs and the requirements of their level (or key stage), target area, and exam specifications.
I have been working as a tutor for 4 years with all ages (kS2, kS3, KS4, A level, and university level) and have been teaching (KS3, KS4, and A level) for 1 year.
My lessons typically begin by talking through the work and discussing the lesson content, we will then move on to an independent task to check for learning, following this, I will offer feedback on the independent practice at the end of the lesson for praise, encouragement, and improvement.
My lessons tend to be an hour long but can be lengthened or shortened depending on your preference.
