About Bertus
I have assisted hundreds of students in practical sessions, and spent two years as an exam script marker.
I know what the memorandum typically looks like, and can guide you in answering questions in a concise manner.
I have presented my work at several conferences, and adapted complex scientific ideas into infographics that are easy to follow.
I am easy-going, and will provide a comfortable environment for us to adapt your learning experience in a way that works for you.

I personalise my teaching approach to what each student needs from me.
Send me your work tasks, exam scope, questions you grapple with, or any other problems, assignments, or concepts that you are struggling to wrap your head around.
I am fully fluent in Afrikaans and English.
My lessons range from grade 8 to final year BSc biology, genetics, cell biology, gene control, evolution and beyond.
My approach utilises visual elements, and analogies to simplify the complex concepts that often make biology seem more difficult than it needs to be.
