About Rylan
I have a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish from Auburn University. While at Auburn I received exceptional training from my professors (the majority of whom were native speakers). Although classroom instruction is important, there is no substitute for full immersion in the language. I have lived and traveled extensively in Mexico; this allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to "real-world" situations. That is my hope for students, that they may be able to confidently use Spanish in a practical way.

I have experience tutoring all levels of proficiency from kindergarten to undergraduate Spanish students. I will draw on my 8+ years of training in the Spanish language and my intimate understanding of Hispanic culture to provide practical lessons that will equip students for success.
My specialty is Mexican Spanish (having lived and worked in Mexico this is the dialect that I am most familiar with), however I am comfortable and experienced with other dialects. I believe in focusing on "real-world" application over meticulous grammar and phonetics. In doing so, the language becomes "alive". Using a practical, experience based model students will be able to confidently apply lessons to their daily interactions with the Spanish language.
