About Clawens

My name is Clawens Ticompere, and I am a recent graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where I majored in Neuroscience and Behavior with minors in Biology and Psychology on the pre-medical track. With a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving, I bring both academic excellence and a passion for education to my tutoring. My scientific background enhances my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and logically. I am committed to helping students build confidence, develop a deeper understanding of material, and achieve their academic goals. I approach teaching with professionalism, patience, and creativity, ensuring that each student receives personalized support tailored to their learning style. Your success is my priority, and I strive to make every lesson engaging, motivating, and rewarding

Tutoring Approach & Lesson Plan

My Teaching Method & Techniques

I combine creative, student-centered teaching with structured concept mastery. I believe math becomes easier when it's relatable and fun, so I use:

Real-life analogies (e.g., skateboarding for velocity, baking for ratios)

Interactive activities & visuals (games, diagrams, digital tools)

Breaking problems into small steps for confidence building

Guided discovery, asking students how they would approach the problem

Growth mindset reinforcement (“Math is learned, not gifted”)

I tailor lessons to learning styles (visual, verbal, kinesthetic) and use check-ins to measure understanding, rather than waiting until the end.
