About Mikaila

I scored a 522 on the MCAT (130/130/130/132) and graduated from the University of Richmond in May 2026 with degrees in Biology and Psychology. I have eight years of tutoring experience in biology and chemistry, including university-level biochemistry, and a strong academic background in the sciences. My own MCAT preparation taught me how to approach challenging material, break down complex concepts, and develop effective test-taking strategies.

As a tutor, I combine my academic background and teaching experience to help students reach their individual goals. I prepared for the MCAT without purchasing a commercial prep course, so I can also share strategies for maximizing free resources, creating personalized study schedules, and tracking progress. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and develop the skills they need to succeed on test day.

About the lesson

I scored a 522 on the MCAT (130/130/130/132) and have 8 years of experience tutoring biology and chemistry. I graduated from the University of Richmond with degrees in Biology and Psychology, and I love helping students build confidence in subjects that can initially feel overwhelming.

I offer tutoring in all MCAT sections, including biology, biochemistry, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, psychology, and sociology. Beyond content review, I specialize in test-taking strategies, passage analysis, and helping students understand how to approach MCAT questions effectively.

I prepared for the MCAT without purchasing a commercial prep course, and I believe you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to achieve a great score. I can help you take advantage of free resources, develop a personalized study plan based on your timeline, and track your progress using tools and spreadsheets I’ve created and used myself.
