About Jose
When I hear a student utter apathetic/unconfident phrases, I transcend into an ultra-motivated and driven instructor to prove to students they are more intuitive and smarter than they give themselves credit for. Phrases like "I don't like math", "I am not good at math", "Math is hard", " Why do we need to learn this?", and "Math is boring" bring an ear-to-ear smile and spark a challenge in interest. I believe everyone can be literate at math, meaning understanding basic principles of algebra, geometry, and physics. It's all around us. It is inevitable and cannot be escaped and go unnoticed! From the relative velocities being in a vehicle on the road, to the way our streets are paved, to the geometry and engineering engraved to the infrastructure around us

My approach is not to create/convert students into math, science geniuses. My initial goal for struggling students is to make math approachable. Stop making math feel less like a chore and more like a hobby by presenting real life applications. Lesson plans include examples, pictures and experiments. The lessons range from struggling students to the A+ overachievers, both high school and college.
