About Nadia
- What kind of experience do you have?
Over the past ten years I have tutored 60+ clients, ranging from ages 5 to 65, on a regular basis. I have gained extensive and successful experience tutoring at GCSE and A-level. I have also taught French to beginners seeking to learn the language out of pleasure and/or to optimize their career opportunities. Back when I was studying in Zurich, I also taught French and English to adults at various companies.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Available within 7 days if necessary
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I've been working with a student for the past two years who has just received the highest grade possible at her GSCE French exam. I will be continuing work with her this year to prepare her for her French A levels.
I recently worked with a student preparing for her French A-levels. She got full marks in her speaking exam, did very well in her writing exam too and exceeded her offer to university. I am now tutoring her younger brother.

I am a committed and personable French and German tutor. I have 4 years experience tutoring a wide range of students, from as young as 5 years old to adult age. I am a native French speaker and have a Masters in English and French Literature from Zurich University.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
French (up to Pre-U) and German (up to GCSE)
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a MA in English, French and Comparative Literature from the University of Zurich, from which I graduated with Honours and obtained a prize for outstanding achievement. I also have a MA in Acting from the Drama Centre London, which is part of the University of the Arts London. In 2023, I completed the MA in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths, graduating with Distinction.
I am an actor, filmmaker and playwright. I'm also working on my first novel.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour online, £45 if I have to travel.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home, at the student's place, in a public place and on Zoom.
- When are you available?
I am flexible and happy to teach any day of the week, according to my availability.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Although I have experience teaching all ages, my preference is to tutor students preparing for GCSE and A level exams.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
French GCSE and A level (all boards)
German GCSE
DELF (French Language Exam)
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have extensive experience tutoring via Zoom, which I do very effectively.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am very personable and patient. I have a thorough understanding of grammar and can explain rules in detail with the help of examples and exercises. As both a writer director and an actor, I place a lot of emphasis on fluency and style in both written and oral expression and I always strive to communicate my love of language. I give equal importance to all features of language – grammar, syntax, punctuation, pronunciation and vocabulary. I often find that a number are neglected in the classroom, evidently because of lack of time, which is why and where I come in!

Excellent! We had an excellent conversation, but we agreed that Nadia's skills would not be best match for my requirements. So, we agreed to part on the best of terms.
Perfect! Nadia had an instant rapport with Tabby and pitched things perfectly. Tabby was immediately engaged ... and Nadia was also v at home teaching to an English GCSE exam.
Perfect! I would highly recommend Nadia.

Nadia is a great A level French tutor. She took the time to research all the queries I had, and always got back to me with full explanations, often also sending me really useful worksheets and exercises. When I asked to do translations, she found ones I hadn't done from other exam boards, which I was very grateful for. Nadia improved my French, and made me feel more secure in my school lessons. I really recommend her!
Nadia is brilliant teacher who has given me immense knowledge which had helped me during my examination. I was happy to get a 9 for my GCSE only thanks to Nadia. Thank you so much!
By tutoring with Nadia I was able to cover the IGCSE 2 year French course in 6 months and obtain an excellent grade. I became much more confident in spoken and written French. Lessons with Nadia are always very engaging, effective and fun. Nadia is experienced, knowledgeable and kind.
Nadia helped me prepare for my French A Levels. She's very friendly, motivated and supportive; she tailors the lesson to your needs and preferences and is great at explaining the particularities of French grammar.
She tailors the lessons to suit your style of learning which creates a very affective way to improve your language skills.
