About Malak
I am from Nashville, Tennessee and have very recently graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Language Sciences. I love writing and learning about psychology, particularly the psychology behind human language and multilingualism. In fact, I love these things so much that I will be starting a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders in the fall at Northwestern! One of the reasons that I am pursuing a career in academia is because I love mentoring and teaching others. My teaching philosophy is that education is as much of an intellectual endeavor as it is an emotional one, and so I will strive to build your confidence as a learner as much as I plan on helping you master the educational content. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, crafting, and live music.

I am an experienced and highly qualified to tutor in various STEM subjects and humanities subjects, especially given that I have served as an undergraduate teaching assistant inthe past. Some of my favorites include psychology and english! I am adaptable, student-focused, and I am incredibly passionate about mentorship. I will adapt my lesson plans to your goals for the tutoring session, and will incorporate your feedback through regular check-ins. My career goals include being a professor, so I take my role as your tutor very seriously (but not too seriously).
