James has the unique and wonderful gift of patience.
I’ve personally watched him teach everything from piano and trumpet to chess (and even table tennis!), and each and every time he brings the same calming approach. He nurtures each student into believing that they can do it, no matter how difficult it may seem at first.
James never rushes them or makes them feel that they aren’t progressing quickly enough, instead, he gives them the time, encouragement and assurance they need to find their own way by patiently explaining, demonstrating, encouraging even if means trying again and again for as long as it takes, until that moment when the student finally realises, “I can do this.”
What makes James such a special teacher is that he doesn’t simply teach a skill, he teaches self-trust, whether it’s a musical instrument, a chessboard, or even a table tennis table, his patience, encouragement and unwavering confidence in his students make them feel that, with enough time and effort, anything is possible.
Therefore, he gets results.
