About Florent
I am a freelance graphic designer / illustrator for 15 years now, working exclusively for manga editors in areas such typewriting, cover design, promotional illustration, comics, visual communication. I am passionate about comics and manga, I love to share my knowledge and to direct young talents by teaching them my accumulated secrets and experiences. For the last three years, I have been running a number of manga workshops in the Hautes-Seine, and the students always come out very happy.

My teaching method is based on the learning and technical construction of a manga, its history, genres and characteristics. The manga is very different from the comics Franco-Belgian, black and white, sustained rhythm, dynamic framing, FX sounds and speedlines. Here is a typical workshop: The first session focuses on an introduction and history of the manga and research on his own scenario and characters. The next two focus on the storyboard (Nemu) and the sketch of the first chapter The last two on the inking of the boards and the pause of frames (or gray). With this practice, the student will have all the cards in hand to be able to make his own manga. The workshop will allow him to draw the outline of his history and will bring him all the necessary techniques for a good realization.
