My lessons cover three core areas: rudiments, drum set techniques, and chart reading/writing—all reinforced with essential music theory. My #1 goal is to make learning fun while guiding students toward their musical passions and building real proficiency along the way. With teaching experience spanning ages 4 to 70 and institutions from local music stores to Musicians Institute, I'm equipped to work with students at every skill level. Also, check out my book, "The Irreplaceable Musician," available on Amazon and through my website, miahpalmer.com.

Perfect! Great teacher, I can tell I still have a lot to learn but I felt comfortable and in good hands with Miah. Excited to learn under their guidance as their experience and knowledge really shows.
- Angel is brand new to playing music, yet seems like a natural. After 15 minutes she's already playing 8th on the hi hats and quarters on the kick drum with no prior experience on the drums. Looking forward to seeing what the musical future holds for her.Miah's response :
Perfect! Miah is an amazing drum teacher! You’ll learn so much even in just one lesson, and it’s incredibly motivating to see your own progress under his guidance. He’s super knowledgeable and makes sure the lesson is tailored to you—constantly checking in to ensure you’re getting exactly what you need. He’s not only skilled, but also thoughtful and considerate, which makes the whole experience really encouraging and supportive.
- Natalie is the perfect student. Excited, passionate, and experienced in dance which crosses over rhythmically and helps learn syncopation as well as tighten up timing. Happy to gain a student like her.Miah's response :
Perfect! Miah was just was I was looking for, within minutes of the lesson I already felt comfortable and was learning things about the drums I never knew existed and could only be demonstrated in person. No question was a dumb one and he answered everything I asked. I learned a lot from our 1st lesson and have some homework to do and looking forward to learning more from him. Highly recommend him to any drummer looking to learn and have fun at the same time!
- Jason has a solid presence on the drums, fairly good time, and has a good foundation to now better improve his technique, dynamics, and endurance. We will start to work on reading and then writing music, as well as playing songs Jason wants to learn.Miah's response :
