Guitar lessons (pop, rock, jazz, folk) with regular gigging musician - graduate of Cambridge Uni & Trinity Laban Conservatoire

I’ve been having guitar lessons with Max for the past two months, and I can honestly say they’ve made a huge difference to my playing. Even though I was already a relatively advanced guitarist, I’ve improved massively in a surprisingly short amount of time.

The biggest difference has been in my understanding of music theory. Max has completely changed the way I think about chords, scales and songs. Rather than simply learning shapes and patterns, I now understand much more about why things work together, which has changed the way I approach the guitar and music in general.

What I particularly like about Max’s teaching is that he doesn’t just teach you what to play — he teaches you how to think about what you’re playing. He’s able to take ideas that initially seem complicated and explain them in a way that actually makes sense, while still giving you plenty to challenge yourself with.

After only two months, I’ve noticed a genuine difference in both my playing and the way I understand music. I think that speaks volumes about how good a teacher Max is.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already an experienced guitarist, I’d strongly recommend Max. If you want to genuinely understand the guitar, develop your musical thinking and take your playing further rather than simply learn a few songs, I’d definitely book a lesson with him.
