About Sofiane

Bonjour, My name is Sofiane, I am from Lille in northern France. I have lived and worked in London for 7 years and I am currently working as a French teacher and learning mentor. I am passionate about languages and culture and understand the difficulties but also the importance of learning another language. I hope that with my support you can improve all aspects of the French language (reading, writing, speaking and learning) and therefore create rich life opportunities and experiences.

About the lesson

I use a variety of teaching learning strategies to support students of different abilities. As well as ensuring students cover the relevant programmes of work, I introduce them to French culture (music, film, games) to aid their understanding. Throughout the session I can also support with school studies and homework as well as interact with students about subjects that are relevant and meaningful to them.

Sofiane is French so has a particularly excellent grasp of the language and is passionate about it. He is also a natural at engaging with children, putting them at ease and helping them to learn the language. He is thorough, picks up on weaknesses and sets tasks accordingly. My daughter is studying for her GCSEs and her confidence with French and her speaking and writing skills have improved noticeably in the short time she has been having help with Sofiane. I look forward to seeing this trajectory continue as she approaches her exams.

Really great, funny guy. Honestly got me through French GCSE and couldn't have done it without him. Had a tutor recommended by my teacher and it just didn't work but I feel like sofiane is really great at working with people around my age (16)
