About John
My name is John. I grew up in Knoxville, TN and have moved around the Southeast here and there since then. I love teaching, reading, writing, and the process of understanding others and what their unique needs are and how I can help. I have spent 12 years teaching in a variety of settings and I look forward to meeting you and seeing how I can help.

I individualize my approach to each student. I believe every student learns uniquely and therefore needs a plan tailored to them, their needs, and their learning style.
We spend time in each lesson focusing on teaching the necessary concepts and then giving time for guided individual practice so that students not only learn the concepts but grow in their ability to practice for themselves.
I can help students who are learning English, who need to brush up on grammar, spelling, or other writing mechanics, or who need help understanding literature.
