About Oliver
Oliver is a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. His advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. His mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. His PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; his master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and his bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). His vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, he's provided consultancy services since 2011.

I work with individuals, agencies, and local authorities. My priorities are social, emotional, and mental health needs; special educational needs; alternative provision; looked after children; and ‘challenging’ behaviour. I cover key stages 2 (SATs, 11+, and secondary selection); 3 (SATs); 4 (GCSE); 5 or further education (AS and A2, NVQ, apprenticeship, and IB); 19+ (vocational); and higher education (graduate, postgraduate, and terminal degrees).

excellent guy and really helpful feedback!
Oli has developed a really good professional relationship with my aspergers y10 son. He has brought him on rapidly. Very glad I found him. Highly recommend.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Oli for all the tutoring help he has given me this year. He has helped me to secure a place at my first choice university and I don't believe I would have without him! Oli is very knowledgeable and a really lovely guy who genuinely cares about his students. Definitely recommend! Thanks Oli
Oli is a great tutor, really helps me to understand and explains everything really clearly. A great help for revision as I just feel so much more confident already, after only 3 sessions with him
