About Rhyca
I’m currently a student at the University of Alabama studying Psychology with a minor in Biology on the pre-PA track. I’ve always taken academics seriously—I graduated high school as salutatorian, was a member of the National Honor Society, earned National Merit recognition, and received a full-ride scholarship to college. I’m proud of those accomplishments, but I’m also a very well-rounded person and believe there is much more to life than academics!
I genuinely love working with kids and have gained experience through Al’s Pals, the YMCA, volunteering, and other leadership roles. I’m outgoing, patient, encouraging, and love getting to know the individual personalities of the kids I work with. Building relationships with students matters to me because I think learning is much easier when you feel comfortable with the person helping you.
Outside of school, I’m a typical college student! I love working out, shopping, spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and anything pink. I enjoy staying busy, meeting new people, and finding ways to make whatever I’m doing fun. I hope to bring that same energy to tutoring while still being dependable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed.

I am a high-achieving college student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students succeed. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and earned a 34 on the ACT in high school. As a Psychology major with a Biology minor on the pre-PA track, I have extensive experience with science, math, English, psychology, writing, and other core academic subjects.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s learning style. Rather than simply giving students answers, I break difficult concepts into manageable steps, explain them in different ways, and use practice problems and examples until the material truly makes sense.
I also have extensive experience working with children and students through leadership, mentoring, childcare, and educational programs, including serving as a Grade Leader with Al’s Pals and working as a YMCA counselor and Grade Leader. These experiences have taught me how to communicate with different ages, keep students engaged, and create a comfortable environment where they are not afraid to ask questions.
I am available to tutor students in elementary through high school across a wide variety of subjects, including math, science, biology, English, reading, writing, psychology, social sciences, homework help, study skills, test preparation, and ACT preparation. I can also help students improve organization, study strategies, and confidence in the classroom.
Every lesson is tailored to what the student needs that day—whether that means reviewing class material, preparing for an exam, completing homework, strengthening foundational skills, or getting ahead. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
