About Shaya
My name is Shaya (it rhymes with papaya if you want to remember how to pronounce it). I live in New York, I'm a high school sophomore, and English is my favorite subject. My goal is to make tutoring a chance to genuinely enhance your reading and writing proficiency, without it feeling like a chore. Again, I'm in high school myself; I'm not above you. I'm a student as well, and I'm right there with you to help you!

As a high school student myself, I understand how stressful English writing and test taking can be. Literacy is a very important aspect of not only English, but of a variety of other subjects. Understanding how to write structured sentences, paragraphs, and essays with strong vocabulary and clean grammar can go a long way. I took the ELA Regents Exam when I was in eighth grade, and I actually enjoyed it. I am looking to help students, primarily in middle school, who wish to improve their writing, reading, grammar, and ELA test taking skills (regents included). I can also guide students in elementary school who look to be a step ahead in their ELA classes.
