About Navya

My name is Navya Gadre, and I am a dedicated high school student with a passion for reading and writing. Over the years, I have developed a love for literature and composition which led me to pursue advanced coursework in language arts. I am currently taking Advanced Placement (AP) English classes, have taken honors level English classes in the past, and have shown a high proficiency level in my state exams and SATs.
This enables me to guide my students to their academic goals through English tutoring lessons! I believe in creating an engaging, collaborative, and inquiry-based learning environment where students are unafraid to express and argue their opinions, explore complex texts and ideas, and boost their writing skills. My tutoring lessons will push students in the direction of their goals and help them achieve success in their academic endeavors!

-I create visuals and examples that will help students put different writings into perspective

-I emphasize personal learning and will tailor my lesson plans to my student’s needs

-I encourage questions, because asking questions can be the best way to learn!

My Qualifications:

-My school state exams show my beyond proficient reading and writing skills (4969 on the reading exam)

-My current SAT reading and writing score is above average (650/90th percentile)

-I take advanced placement (AP) language and writing courses

-I maintain a 5.0 GPA

-elementary school students who struggle with grammar use, vocabulary, parts of speech, spelling and reading comprehension

-middle school students who struggle with writing essays, answering multiple choice questions, understanding reading passages, analysis of texts and use of figurative language

- adjectives, adverbs, nouns, verbs, and other parts of speech practice
- capitalization, punctuation and grammar practice
- reading comprehension with literary texts and multiple choice questions
- vocabulary word practice with flashcards or study sets
- practice with phonics and frequently confused words/letters

For Middle Schoolers

- figurative language practice with worksheets and online websites
- book study: reading literary books and analyzing them
- reading comprehension practice with literary texts and multiple choice questions
- informational texts: reading news articles and annotating/analyzing
- opinions and arguments: form arguments and choose reasoning/evidence to support the argument
-understanding different writing strategies and types of writing
