About Nathan
Following my graduation in the top 15 students in Victoria for VCE Music Performance in 2019, I began my teaching career at Caulfield Music Centre at the commencement of 2020, where I have been a certified tutor for over two years.
My experience as a tutor includes having taught over a thousand lessons to students ranging from four years old through to adults and seniors. I also taught consistently through all Melbourne lockdowns, and have extensive experience with Zoom and Skype lessons.
Outside of teaching I am a full time musician and DJ, performing regularly at venues and events and spending many hours each day honing my craft in the practise room.
I have a deep passion and enthusiasm for music, self-development and people. I love forming new connections through my love of music and hope to continue to inspire other people along the same path.

In my guitar lessons you will be able to develop a solid foundation on the instrument or be able to specialise further in styles such as funk, blues, jazz or classical, for advancing players.
I have extensive experience with teaching young children as well as adults, and love teaching all ages and skill levels! Ultimately my goal is to teach the necessary skills while fostering a lasting enthusiasm for guitar.
During our first trial lesson, we'll get acquainted by discussing your musical interests, taste, any prior experience and expectations with the lessons, because every student learns differently. I aim to reflect this as much as possible in the way I teach. For example:
My students have the option to come up with a short list of songs for us to focus on during the lessons. I'll then cover the foundational concepts and techniques used in these songs, so that student gains confidence in the style of playing that they are most interested in.
For beginners, this might involve more general concepts such as basic chord shapes and notes, whereas more experienced players might be directed towards more niche techniques. With over ten years of instrumental experience, I am fluent across countless of these techniques and am confident to be able to help you along your musical journey.

Nathan has been teaching our son (early primary school) for a year and has been fantastic in fostering enthusiasm and love for music, as well as introducing music theory at the perfect pace. Nathan established a great rapport early on and our son loves his lessons!
Nathan is a professional, knowledgeable and friendly guitar teacher. He has helped me to improve my guitar technique, confidence when playing in front of others and overall musicianship. Nathan’s wealth of musical knowledge inspires me to learn more in each and every class. I would highly recommend Nathan to any friend searching for guitar lessons.
