About Adam

I've taught languages to all age groups and all sorts of people, in the UK, Spain, India and France. A passionate language learner, speaking French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, and currently teaching myself Ukrainian, I constantly experiment with different ways of engaging myself and others in language learning. I understand that there are many different reasons why people are motivated to learn a language, and that everyone has different goals and priorities in their language learning, so learning about my students is extremely important to me.

About the lesson

Every student has different needs, whether they want to get a good IELTS score and go to university or practise their English before their holiday. In my ten years of teaching, I have worked with hundreds of people to help them to achieve their goals in English. We will tailor our learning to the individual's needs. I have students who want to do nothing but practise speaking, who want to read novels or watch TV shows together, and who want to learn with a more traditional grammar-based approach. I'm happy to follow your lead or to suggest schemes of work - as long as our lessons are helping you to achieve your goals with the English language! I am a qualified language teacher, with ten years' experience teaching English and Spanish to adults and school children in a variety of settings. I gained my Trinity Cert-TESOL in 2012 and in 2021, I gained my PGCE from Newcastle University.

With my autism it can be difficult to sit through lessons, however this isn't the case with Adam.

The lesson is tailored to my strengths and level and its clear to see progress!

I worked with Adam for several years and always had the utmost respect for his teaching. He continuously sought out new material and new modes of teaching to expand his skill-set, and consistently gained high acclaim from his students.
Diligent, clever, but also warm and with a sense of humour, Adam was always his students' favourite.

I have been having 1-1 lessons with Adam for just over two years. I decided to take up French as a hobby and Adam has helped keep it that way, his lessons are fun and enjoyable. Adam molds the lesson around the student and is flexible in his teaching to help process and understand the new information.
