About Matilda
I graduated in June 2023 from a History BA at the University of Cambridge, during which I've focused especially on the history of religion, migration and political thought. I've undertaken a wide variety of mentoring and tutoring work, mainly for sixth-form students, which I find incredibly rewarding and hope to continue while I move towards postgraduate study.

I always aim to be friendly, open-minded and honest with students, and to tailor my tutoring to their needs and interests. I will provide recommendations for further reading at a suitable level to help them develop their own distinctive areas of specialism. I give precise, actionable feedback and teach mostly by discussion, encouraging students to think critically about history and how we learn about it rather than memorising facts and taking knowledge as given.
