About Melissa
I'm an experienced teacher and tutor who has worked with students at all levels of education. I have a PhD in history, as well as a master's and a bachelor's in history. I have taught geography, writing skills, social studies, and history-related topics as well. I strive to make history as exciting and interesting as possible, as it is often considered a "boring" topic. I don't just approach classes with dates and names and the like, I emphasize humanity, social relationships, and larger themes as they emerge and play out.

Teaching is interactive, and includes reciprocity between instructor and student. Verbal and audio exercises allow students to thrive, as different learners respond to a variety of methods.
