About Srija
I have a strong academic foundation in life sciences, supported by a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Botany from the University of Calcutta (Merit Rank 2 and Rank 4, respectively), and I am currently completing my M.Tech in Biophysics from IIT Kanpur. I have also qualified CSIR-UGC NET (Life Sciences) with All India Rank 45 and GATE (Life Sciences) with All India Rank 61, reflecting a solid conceptual understanding across biological disciplines.
My teaching experience has developed through mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students during my academic training. I have guided students in understanding core subjects such as cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry, with a focus on building conceptual clarity rather than rote learning. I have also assisted in explaining experimental techniques, data interpretation, and research methodology, helping students connect theory with practical applications.
My teaching methodology is student-centered and structured. I break down complex topics into simple, logical steps, use real-life examples and diagrams for better visualization, and encourage active questioning and discussion. I emphasize conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and exam-oriented preparation simultaneously. I also adapt my teaching style based on the student’s level, ensuring personalized attention and clarity.
In addition to subject teaching, my experience in scientific research and quality analysis has strengthened my ability to evaluate academic content critically, maintain accuracy, and communicate scientific ideas effectively—skills that directly support high-quality teaching and student learning outcomes.
My subject expertise includes molecular biology, cell biology, virology, biophysics, and general life sciences, and I am passionate about making these subjects engaging, intuitive, and meaningful for students.
