About Casey
I've been creating art and telling stories for as long as I can remember, and managing a career in the arts ever since I started my education at SVA. As a student in BFA Illustration, I know all there is to know about art school & arts education, and I have proficiency in drawing digitally with professional-grade programs such as Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint.
Beyond private tutoring, my experience includes zines & art books, NYC artist alley conventions such as BICS and FanfaireNYC, & various arts & media internships - from visual development for upcoming animated series to spending a summer behind the scenes & in the writer's room with Unger Media.

I teach beginner to intermediate artists looking to create strong, competitive portfolio pieces, or to level up their illustration skills. I believe every artist deserves an education, and following your dreams is the first step to success!
Drawovers, critiques, and hands-on learning are key factors that go into everyday lessons. I work with each student individually to find their strengths, weaknesses, and which teaching style works for them.
I have experience with professional commissions, merchandise creation, & artist alley vending. I'm more than happy to give my insight into the industry! Each artist has a personal style and goals, and I will always encourage and nurture students to become their very best self.

Details
I charge a fixed rate of $75 for hour. Lessons can be 1 - 2 hours per session, up to 5 sessions per week.
Whether you're in a time crunch during portfolio season or you'd like a more laid-back style of teaching, I'm flexible in my schedule and willing to work with whatever is best for you!
