I am a highly accomplished competitive chess player and dedicated coach with years of tournament experience. I am the highest-rated chess player in the city of Naperville, ranked among Top 50 in Illinois, and Top 100 USA U18. Holding an official USCF rating of 2058, and a Chess.com rating of 2525, I bring elite expertise to my tutoring. My competitive background helps me understand the psychological and strategic obstacles that players face at every stage of their development. I approach coaching with professionalism, and patience.

Whether you are a complete beginner or an aspiring tournament player, my chess lessons are entirely personalized in order to fit your goals. We typically start classes with a warm-up game and targeted tactics to sharpen your calculation, identify weaknesses, and track your growth. To build strong fundamental ideas, we will often times analyze our own matches, my games, or strong Grandmaster games. This allows me to clearly explain the though process behind each move and teach you how to apply concepts like finding prophylactic moves to shut down an opponent's plan. I am patient, easy to communicate, and genuinely committed to helping you improve and become a stronger player.
