About Riley
Salut ! I'm a French tutor with 4 years of experience and a PhD in French Linguistics. I specialize in teaching teenagers by tying language learning to French youth culture. My lessons include trending slang, current music, social media posts, and teen-focused films. These real-world materials make French feel less like schoolwork and more like something to enjoy. I love watching students light up when they realize they can understand a French meme or sing along with a popular song. My lessons are energetic, expressive, and centered around conversation and culture. We don’t just memorize; we practice, perform, and laugh. Whether it’s roleplaying a café scene or breaking down a trending video, students build fluency through real use. I adapt lessons to match each teen’s interests, from gaming to fashion to music. I believe the key to confidence is comfort, and I work hard to make my lessons a relaxed, welcoming space. I want every student to walk away not just learning French, but enjoying it. When teens connect emotionally with a language, they never forget it—and that’s where the real learning begins.

I teach French as a living, breathing language—one that fits beautifully with music, theatre, and expressive arts. My lessons are interactive and creatively designed, balancing grammar fundamentals with artistic engagement. We might analyze a French ballad one day and act out a film scene the next.
I work with song lyrics, monologues, dialogues, and pronunciation as tools for deeper learning. Students build fluency while developing stage presence, emotion, and articulation in French. I’m especially skilled at helping Conversationalists speak with natural ease, and supporting Exam Takers through targeted, lively drills.
Every session feels like a creative lab—structured enough to progress, flexible enough to inspire. I help learners unlock not just the words, but the emotion behind them. You’ll walk away from each lesson with new skills, new insights, and more confidence. Whether you're preparing to perform or just want to sound more expressive, I’ll help you get there—with joy.
