About Emma

I’m a native French speaker with 23 years of teaching experience and a strong academic background in psychology and psychoanalysis. I have also lived abroad for many years, including 2 years in Canada and 7 years in the United States, which gives me a very practical understanding of the challenges English speakers face when learning French.

I work with teenagers and adults from beginner to advanced level, helping them improve speaking, grammar, pronunciation, listening, writing, and overall fluency. I also prepare students for DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF/TEFAQ, FIDE, IB French, and AP French.
My background in psychology strongly influences the way I teach. I pay particular attention to confidence, motivation, anxiety, memory, learning styles, and the individual obstacles that can slow down language acquisition.

My lessons are structured but highly personalized. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all method: I adapt each course to the student’s level, goals, strengths, difficulties, and deadlines.

Having lived in both North America and France, I can also explain French language and culture in a way that is clear and accessible to English-speaking students.

About the lesson

I’m a native French speaker with 23 years of teaching experience and an academic background in psychology and psychoanalysis. My training in psychology helps me better understand motivation, confidence, language anxiety, memory, and individual learning difficulties, so lessons can be adapted to the way each student learns best.

I work with teenagers and adults from beginner to advanced level and offer:
• General French — A1 to C2
• Conversation and fluency
• Grammar, pronunciation, writing, and comprehension
• Academic and professional French
• DELF / DALF preparation
• TCF / TCF Canada preparation
• TEF / TEFAQ preparation
• FIDE preparation
• IB and AP French support
• Intensive exam preparation and strategy

My lessons are structured but practical. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all method: each course is built around your level, strengths, difficulties, objectives, and deadlines.

Whether you want to speak French with confidence, prepare for an official exam, improve your professional French, or reach an advanced level, I can create a personalized program for you.
