About ZWIVHUYA
Hello! My name is Zwivhuya, and I am an experienced IT and Computer Science lecturer with a BSc Honours in Computer Science and a strong passion for teaching and technology.
I have experience teaching university-level subjects including Database Systems, Cloud Computing, Programming, Internet of Things (IoT), Android Development and Mathematics. My academic and teaching background allows me to support students with both theoretical concepts and practical skills such as programming, SQL, database design and cloud technologies.
I understand that Computer Science and programming can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when concepts are introduced too quickly. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely, make mistakes, practise and develop confidence at their own pace.
I am patient, approachable and committed to helping each student genuinely understand the work rather than simply memorising information for an assessment. I adapt my explanations and examples according to each student's level and learning needs.
Whether you are struggling with a university module, preparing for an assessment, learning programming from the beginning, or simply looking to strengthen your IT skills, I would be happy to guide you through the learning process.
I believe that with the right explanation, practical examples and consistent practice, even difficult technical concepts can become much easier to understand.

I am a Computer Science lecturer with a strong academic and practical background in Information Technology. My teaching approach is student-centred, practical and easy to follow. I focus on breaking complex technical concepts into simple steps and using real-world examples, demonstrations and hands-on exercises to help students understand both the theory and its practical application.
I offer tutoring in Computer Science and IT subjects, including Programming, C++, Java, Kotlin, Python fundamentals, Database Systems, SQL, Cloud Computing and AWS, Android Development, Internet of Things (IoT), and related computing topics. I can also assist students with Mathematics and provide academic guidance for IT and Computer Science projects.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's current level and areas of difficulty. I then explain the concept step by step, work through practical examples with the student, and provide exercises or questions to check understanding. For programming and database lessons, students can expect practical coding, debugging, SQL exercises and problem-solving rather than theory alone.
What makes my teaching approach unique is my combination of academic teaching experience and practical technology knowledge. I encourage students to understand why a solution works instead of simply memorising answers. Lessons can also be adapted to the student's module content, learning pace and specific areas where additional support is needed.
I am proficient in English, Tshivenda and Sepedi and can use these languages to support students where appropriate, while technical instruction and academic terminology can be delivered in English.
My lessons are suitable for high-school learners interested in Mathematics or computing, university and college students studying Computer Science or IT, beginners learning programming, and students who need additional support with programming, databases, cloud computing or other technology-related subjects. Both beginners and more advanced students are welcome.
