About Naama
I’m a journalism student at Ryerson University. While in high school, I was an assistant teacher at Centauri Arts Academy where I taught children aged 8-14 creative writing. In previous years I’ve won the Stephen Leacock award for humorous writing as well as the Learning Partnership’s Turning Point Essay Competition. I’ve been an English tutor to children and young teens and taught them to expand their writing skills and English vocabulary while also learn techniques to enhance the clarity and creative tone in their writing. I believe that anyone could be a writer, no matter how “bad” they believe they are. With the right push, motivation, and spark of inspiration, let your inner writer shine.

From previous teaching experience I know that every child learns differently. I will accustom my lessons to my student’s needs and current writing levels. Each lesson I will give my students writing prompts to inspire them to really go outside of their comfort zone as writers. I can read over their existing work and edit it alongside them while giving them a run-down of where and how they can improve. I won’t write anyone’s essay for them. Instead, I will sit with them and serve as a mentor as they write, provide feedback and help them edit their work.
