About Anjalika
I come from India, the birthplace of the beautiful classical dance form, Kathak, and I’ve been deeply connected to dance for 10+ years. With 4+ years of teaching experience across both India and Canada, I bring a blend of tradition, technique, and personal expression into every class.
Dance, for me, is more than movement, it’s storytelling. Through Kathak, you learn how to express emotions, narrate stories, and connect with music in a way that feels both graceful and powerful. It’s like writing a storybook through the soft, rhythmic language of your body.
I welcome anyone who is curious, whether you’re trying dance for the first time, exploring a new art form, or continuing your journey as a passionate dancer. My goal is to create a supportive, enjoyable space where you can learn, grow, and truly experience the joy of this unique art form.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students not only learn the technique but also experience the joy, confidence, and inner connection that dance brings.
I believe every student is unique, so I adapt my teaching style based on your goals, whether you’re a complete beginner, someone returning to dance, or a passionate learner looking to refine your skills. My classes are structured, yet flexible, ensuring you progress at your own pace while enjoying the process.
→ What makes my method different?
I combine traditional Kathak training with a supportive, modern approach breaking down complex movements into simple, easy-to-follow steps while also helping you understand the story and emotion behind the dance. This way, you don’t just learn movements, you learn how to perform and express.
A typical lesson may include:
1. Introduction to the history and cultural essence of Kathak
2. Step-by-step training in footwork (from basic to advanced)
3. Practice of spins/turns with technique and balance
4. Learning foundational movements on classical music
5. Gradually building toward a complete choreography on a song
