About Catrina

Salve! I'm Catrina and I'm currently studying languages at university. I studied French, Latin and Spanish at A level, achieving all As. I've tutored languages for three years and worked with refugees to improve their language skills in Spanish and French, and worked with a class of beginner Latin students for two years. I know that learning languages at schools can be challenging, and know that some extra support at home can be the difference between a grade 7 and a grade 9. I love helping students achieve their full potential and gain confidence in their abilities! DBS certfied.

About the lesson

My first lesson will be about learning your current ability and working together to create a plan that suits your goal. This helps me create a personalised plan of action for your lessons, tackling any particular areas of interest. My classes will cover exam techniques and practice for translation and grammar sections for secondary school students. For beginners, adults or primary school, we will work on building a solid foundation of Latin that we will build on through fun interactive lessons. Each lesson will have a focused skill, through which we will explore the curriculum and expand on vocab, and grammar structures.

Catrina helped my son with his Spanish gcse, she was very flexible with her times, and she gave good feedback that was easily managed. She worked through difficult concepts that he didn't quite grasp at school. Thank you!

Catrina has been my Spanish tutor for a year and a half, in preparation for Spanish GCSE. She is so enthusiastic and explains everything clearly and patiently. I was thrilled to have received a grade 9 in my GCSE exam this Summer because of Catrina’s help!! She is reliable, flexible and fully knowledgeable about her subject which made her lessons so helpful and also really enjoyable. For these reasons, I would highly recommend Catrina to anyone looking for tuition in this subject - thank you Catrina!
