About Hariharan
Hi, I’m Hariharan!
My journey to civil services has been a little unconventional. I studied Business Administration and Law at SASTRA University before moving to the Netherlands, where I completed my LL.M. in International and European Law at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in European Competition Law and Regulation.
During my time in Amsterdam, I also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Amsterdam and later worked professionally in legal and business consulting. After spending several years in the Netherlands, I returned to India and decided to pursue something I had wanted to seriously attempt - the Civil Services Examination.
I appeared for UPSC CSE 2026 and scored 118 in CSAT based on the UPSC answer key. I am currently continuing my own UPSC preparation while also preparing for TNPSC, so I understand the preparation process from the student's side as well — the enormous syllabus, endless resources, confusing PYQs and the constant question of *“What exactly should I study?”
My legal background naturally makes 'Indian Polity and Constitutional Law', one of my strongest and favorite areas to teach. I particularly enjoy taking something that initially looks complicated - an Article, judgment, constitutional institution or CSAT problem - and breaking it down until it becomes surprisingly simple.
I'm not trying to recreate a large coaching-center classroom. I prefer small batches and individual attention, where students are comfortable asking questions, getting things wrong and even telling me, “I still don't understand this.”
I believe a good teacher shouldn't make a subject look difficult to demonstrate how knowledgeable they are.
The real challenge is making a difficult subject feel simple to someone else.
That's the kind of teacher I try to be.

I know what it feels like to prepare for competitive exams and stare at huge books wondering, “Okay… but what exactly am I supposed to remember from this?”
That is exactly what I try to avoid in my classes.
I personally prepare for UPSC and TNPSC, so I teach Polity and CSAT from an aspirant’s perspective - focusing not just on what the textbook says, but on how a question can actually be asked from it.
For Polity, my background in law means I naturally enjoy explaining the Constitution through reasoning rather than memorisation. Instead of saying “memorise Article 200”, I would rather explain why that power exists, what the Governor can and cannot do, what the courts have said about it, and then show you how UPSC or TNPSC can turn the same concept into a tricky MCQ.
CSAT is even more practical. I scored 118 based on the UPSC answer key, but I am not someone who believes every problem needs a fancy shortcut. Sometimes the ordinary method is faster! We will figure out what works for you -calculations, elimination, comprehension, reasoning, question selection and, most importantly, knowing when to skip a question.
I also don't want my classes to feel like a lecture where I speak for 90 minutes and you silently take notes. Expect me to randomly stop and ask, “Okay, now you tell me why.” We will solve PYQs together, make mistakes, figure out why the mistake happened and revisit weak areas until they become comfortable.
If you already have a UPSC foundation, I can help you identify what needs to change for TNPSC instead of making you study everything again from zero. If you are a beginner, we can start from the basics without assuming that you already know the terminology.
My classes are mainly for UPSC and TNPSC aspirants - beginners, repeat aspirants and people who know the syllabus but feel stuck when it comes to actually solving questions.
Basically, I want the class to be the kind of preparation I personally prefer: understand it, question it, connect it, solve it, and then remember it naturally.
