About Wasib
Hi, I’m Wasib! I’m a law and compliance professional based in London, currently working as a Compliance Specialist while also training towards qualification as a solicitor. I have a genuine passion for law, education and helping others develop their confidence. My own journey through higher education taught me that studying law is about much more than memorising cases and legislation. The most rewarding part is learning how to think like a lawyer: questioning assumptions, constructing arguments, interpreting legal principles and applying them to real-world situations. I want to help students develop those skills for themselves. I decided to tutor because I enjoy explaining complicated ideas in a way that makes them feel much less intimidating.
I particularly remember how frustrating it can be when you understand the material but struggle to turn that knowledge into a strong essay, problem question or exam answer. Through my professional work in compliance, I have gained practical experience alongside my academic studies, allowing me to understand how legal principles translate into real professional environments. I want to bring that perspective into my lessons and help students not only understand the law, but also develop the analytical and practical skills that underpin a successful legal career.
Alongside my academic background, I now work professionally in compliance, where I deal with commercial contracts, regulatory requirements, due diligence, risk and healthcare compliance. This has given me the opportunity to see how many of the principles studied academically can operate in real professional environments.
I want my lessons to be a space where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed, challenge ideas, make mistakes and gradually build confidence. My aim isn't simply to help you get through your next exam: it's to help you become a stronger, more analytical and independent law student :)

My lessons are designed to make law clearer, more practical and easier to apply. I have an LLM in Commercial & Corporate Law from Queen Mary University of London, including Distinctions in three modules, alongside professional experience in compliance, commercial contracts, regulatory affairs and legal risk. I teach Criminal, Business, Commercial and Corporate Law, adapting each lesson to your course, level and learning goals.
We can work through difficult topics, analyse cases and legislation, practise problem questions, improve essay structure and legal writing, or prepare for upcoming exams. I believe studying law is about much more than memorising cases and legal rules. It is about understanding how the law works, applying it to different situations and developing a clear, well-supported argument. My aim is to help you understand the reasoning behind the law rather than simply learn material by heart. Whether you are struggling with a particular module, preparing for an exam, or looking to improve your legal writing and analysis, I will tailor each lesson around what you need and help you become a more confident law student.
