About Mia
I'm currently a Software Engineer at Canva and specialise in a frontend tech stack (Javascript, Typescript, React, MobX).
I started my Bachelor of Software Engineering at University of Canberra and after a year, transferred to UNSW Sydney to complete a Bachelor of Computer Science (major in eCommerce systems).

I’m deeply passionate about inspiring and empowering individuals to explore pathways in STEM, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Since 2016, I’ve had the privilege of facilitating workshops and tutoring students of all ages, backgrounds, and learning abilities—helping them build strong foundations in programming and entrepreneurship.
I’ve facilitated workshops and provided tutoring through prominent women in STEM initiatives, including the Girls' Programming Network, STEM Sells, and Code Like a Girl.
I also served as a Community Manager at Entry 29—Canberra’s largest startup co-working community—and more recently, at The Creative Element, where I supported members of the Royal Australian Air Force in a bottom-up innovation program.
