About Eric
I have been teaching full time as a state-licensed (Iowa) math education professional since 2017. I have taught in private and public brick-and-mortar schools, but I currently teach full courses and tutor entirely online, and I love it!
I teach the following courses: Calculus, Precalculus, Algebra 2, Geometry, and sometimes Algebra 1 or 8th Grade Math.
I teach Calculus as though it is an AP course, and every student I have taught who has attempted the AP Calc AB test has passed it, earning either a 5 or a 4, which are the highest possible scores.
I have helped many students make two+ years-worth of math learning gains in a single year.
I would love to help you too!

I teach all math content from fractions (4th Grade) through AP Calculus AB.
I work with students live using Zoom, Ziteboard, Khan Academy, DeltaMath, and any math curriculum materials the student shares with me. My lessons plans are mostly spontaneous, based on your needs.
Students regularly tell me they appreciate my patience, the clarity of explanations, and the precision of my proofs that help them understand why things work as well as how.
I help students understand concepts, definitions, notation, and problem-solving processes. I walk students through proofs of theorems when they want me to.
I create and share a Google document for each student in which I write headings (so the content can be searched), write important notes, and paste images of many of the problems we solve, including our work to solve them and the solutions.
I am flexible in scheduling and rescheduling, so long as the 4/5 of our scheduled sessions are kept and all the kept sessions are paid for.

I had Eric for Precalculus and Calculus, and I really enjoyed it. He explained everything clearly and worked with students when they asked for help. Eric also helped cultivate a natural sense of curiosity and wonder about the subject of math, showing practical applications of the homework we were doing. I would highly recommend him as a tutor.
Eric was the math teacher who got me through calculus 2 by the time I was 15. I tutored under him for 7 years and he didn't just push me farther, he helped find the concepts I needed to revisit to be able to understand what was coming next.
He didn't just push me to "get through" math he pushed me to understand it in a way I could carry forward his skill level. What he taught me stuck with me and by the time I was 18 I had taken Calc 1,2 and 3, differential equations and linear algebra from my local community college.Eric has a deep love for math and helped me accelerate my mathematics education. Because of his teaching in high school, I was able to graduate early and take classes at a community college (which he also helped me prepare for). Eric is a great teacher and cares deeply about his students. Even if you’re not a “math person” his teaching is clear and precise, and he’s great at providing examples and bringing real understanding.
Mr. Robinson is a great math teacher because he seeks to teach the full context of a formula rather than just applying and using it.
