About Robert
Robert Larrivière is a writer, director, filmmaker, and long-time actor with deep roots in regional theatre, film, and television. He studied theatre in college and went on to work both on stage and on screen, appearing in projects such as Where the Crawdads Sing, Treme, and Carry On.
Beyond acting, Robert has extensive experience behind the camera and in production, including set decoration, art department coordination, and producing his own award-winning short film This is Jan.
Robert’s foundation in regional theatre gave him the chance to watch countless productions being built from the ground up, learning from directors and actors who valued process over polish. That foundation has shaped his approach to storytelling and his love of teaching.
Today, Robert shares that experience with the next generation of actors, helping them explore intention, authenticity, and the craft of performance.

Robert’s acting lessons are organic, conversational, and discovery-driven. Instead of giving rigid directions, he asks questions that draw out each student’s instincts, so the learning feels like it belongs to them. Lessons are rooted in breath, body, imagination, and truthful connection, discovering what’s real in the work.
A typical class might include:
• Warm-ups to release tension and connect breath to voice
• Exercises in presence, listening, and spacework
• Monologue or text work exploring objectives, beats, and subtext
• Reflection and discussion to help students articulate their discoveries
Who It’s For:
These lessons are designed for any student, at any stage — whether you’re brand new to acting, building confidence for the first time, preparing for auditions, or already experienced and ready to deepen your craft. The work adapts to the individual: each session is shaped around your strengths, challenges, and goals.
What You’ll Gain:
Whether you’re preparing for an audition or simply exploring your creativity, these lessons will help you:
• Connect more deeply to text and intention
• Build presence, focus, and vocal strength
• Discover freedom and play in performance
• Gain confidence that carries far beyond the stage
