About Riyad
Hey, I’m Riyad! I’m a full-time software engineer and a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). My work focuses on TypeScript, C#, SQL, and using AI coding tools to solve practical business problems.
As a tutor, my goal is to help you build confidence in your ability to reason through problems and explain your ideas. I value open conversation and want you to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing an unfinished thought, or suggesting a different approach.
Whether you’re learning the fundamentals or developing a project, I’d like to help you connect what you’re studying to software you can build and understand.

My lessons start with what you want to accomplish. Before we meet, share a problem you’re working through or a concept you’d like to understand, and we’ll set a clear goal for our session.
We’ll break the problem into manageable steps, work through examples, and write or debug code together. Whether we’re building an app feature, practicing algorithms and data structures, or working with TypeScript, C#, or SQL, I’ll help you understand the reasoning behind each step. We’ll finish with a recap and something concrete to practice.
As a full-time software engineer and UIUC graduate, I bring practical examples from software development into our lessons. I can also help you use AI coding tools thoughtfully, including how to review, test, and understand their output.
My lessons are for beginners, college students, and learners building their own projects. We’ll work at your pace, with space for you to ask questions, think out loud, and explore your own ideas.
