About Joni

As a native Albanian speaker residing in the U.S., I bring both cultural authenticity and professional expertise to my lessons. Currently serving as an Administrative Judge with Florida Commerce and pursuing law studies, I have developed strong skills in oratory, public speaking, and structured communication—skills that translate directly into clear, engaging, and effective language instruction. During my undergraduate years, I worked as a tutor across various subjects, refining my ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles and goals. My teaching method blends conversational fluency with a solid foundation in grammar and vocabulary, supported by carefully curated materials designed to make students not only learn but also fall in love with the Albanian language. A typical lesson includes guided conversation, targeted grammar exercises, and practical cultural insights to ensure that students gain both linguistic confidence and cultural understanding. I specialize in teaching students of all levels—whether you are a complete beginner, a heritage speaker reconnecting with your roots, or a professional seeking to master Albanian for business or legal contexts. With my unique combination of linguistic expertise, public speaking experience, and passion for teaching, I aim to inspire confidence and make learning Albanian an enriching and enjoyable journey.

About the lesson

Want to master Albanian—the language with more cases than Sherlock Holmes? I’m a native Albanian speaker, now living in the U.S., working as an Administrative Judge with Florida Commerce (yes, I judge… but only kindly when it comes to your pronunciation!). With a B.S. in Criminal Justice and pre-law, and currently engaged in law studies, I know how to break down complex rules into bite-sized, easy-to-digest lessons—kind of like how we cut baklava.

My Method? Well, forget boring drills! We will mix lively conversations, cultural nuggets, and laugh-out-loud role-playing (ever wanted to argue with a fictional Albanian grandma about eating more? Now’s your chance). I use fun memory tricks and English-to-Albanian comparisons to make this challenging language feel less like climbing Mount Everest and more like a scenic hike.

A Typical Lesson: We start with a quick chat to warm up, sprinkle in grammar and vocabulary, and wrap it up with real-world practice—so you can actually use what you learn instead of just hoarding words like a dictionary collector.

Who’s It For? Beginners, heritage speakers, travelers, or anyone who’s secretly wanted to impress their Albanian in-laws (or win arguments in another language). Whether you’re prepping for a trip or just want to roll your r’s like a pro, I’ve got you covered!

What are you waiting for?! Let's get the party started!!

Disappointing! Unfortunately, Joni was not the right tutor for me, and my experience was extremely disappointing.
From the beginning, there were several red flags. He canceled lessons repeatedly, and during our first meeting, he never turned on his camera. Many of his text responses also appeared to be generated by ChatGPT, which made me question whether he was genuinely engaged in teaching.
I also found it very unusual that he asked me to leave him a positive review before we had even completed a single lesson. I felt pressured to do so.
Another concern was that he asked me to pay him outside of the Superprof platform. Looking back, I believe this was intentional because Superprof cannot protect or reimburse students for payments made off-platform.
I paid in advance for five lessons that never took place. Every week there was another cancellation or excuse, and after waiting patiently, I finally asked him to refund the money for the lessons he never taught. He refused.
I also noticed that his advertised hourly rate increased dramatically over a very short period of time—from around $10 per hour to $45 per hour within just a few weeks—which only added to my concerns.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Joni. I paid for lessons that were never delivered, was denied a refund, and ultimately felt scammed. I would strongly encourage anyone considering lessons with him to keep all payments within the Superprof platform and proceed with caution.
I trusted this tutor. I ignored red flags. The communication sounded professional. The follow-through wasn’t. He’s much better at sending messages than showing up for lessons. Apparently collecting positive reviews was a higher priority than actually providing the lessons. Don’t let his polished messages fool you. My experience was very different.
The lessons never materialized, but the excuses always did.

One of the best tutors you could find in the platform. Full of integrity and very organized lecturer. I speak from personal experience. I had Joni as my tutor for a few months in a home setting and not only that did he improve my level in Albanian language he even made me speak close to fluently with all my Albanian family members. Words can't describe how grateful I am to him!
