About Leah
I am a Higher Education Lecturer at a land based college rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, with six years’ experience delivering teaching across classroom, practical, and field-based learning environments. I hold a BSc in Zoology, an MSc in Wildlife Management, and a PGCE, with specialist expertise in wildlife conservation, ecology, animal sciences, and ethics and welfare.
Over the past decade, I have gained extensive industry experience through roles including zoo keeper, practical instructor, and field research associate. I have also worked in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, contributing to field-based conservation research and gaining valuable experience in wildlife management and ecological monitoring.
I currently teach students from Level 3 to Level 6, supporting learners through academic study, practical skills development, research projects, and professional preparation. My teaching approach combines scientific knowledge with real-world industry experience, helping students develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of biological and environmental sciences.
I offer tutoring support in the following areas:
• Biology
• Zoology
• Ecology
• Environmental Science
• Animal Science
• Animal Behaviour
• Wildlife Conservation
• Animal Welfare
I can provide tailored support with topics including conservation science, biodiversity, animal biology, ecological principles, research methods, habitat management, species management, and animal welfare.
Whether you are studying at school, college, or university level, I can help you strengthen your understanding, develop academic skills, and achieve your learning goals.

Perfect! Had a nice, relaxed first lesson with Leah, talking about my goals. Leah is now guiding me through the process of applying for my master's degree and advising me on how to write an impactful personal statement.
